training in Asia-Pacific ahead of the first ever
PPDM Petroleum Data Analyst certification exam.
CLTech founder and lead data management practitioner
has provided a three day training course on “Advanced
Topics in Oil & Gas Information Management;
Aligning with the Business” in Kuala Lumpur. The
course will be held in 2015 in Australia (Perth)
and Indonesia (Bandung) and will be aligned with
the competency profile needed to sit the inaugural
PPDM Petroleum Data Analyst exam on 18-Mar-2015.

CLTech founder facilitates
PPDM Australia events
Jess
Kozman has been named the Asia-Pacific Regional
Representative for the Professional Petroleum Data
Management (PPDM) Association. He will be located
in Singapore and report to the PPDM Board of Directors
in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. His primary tasks will
be to encourage and evangelize the adoption and
adaptation of industry standards, provide training
and mentoring, and encourage local Asia-Pacific
membership and participation in events. The posting
grew out of CLTech’s participation in PPDM events
in Brisbane and Perth last year:

Analytics for Asset Optimization” in Malaysia. CLTech
provided the technical facilitator for a half day
workshop at the UNI Strategic “Next Generation Digital
Oilfields Conference” in Kuala Lumpur, where the
use of predictive analytics for asset optimisation
was discussed and debated.

CLTech Consultants
in Southeast Asia
A CLTech
practitioner has recently concluded a 2 ½ year assignment
with an ambitious and growing Southeast Asia oil
and gas operator, where they were the owner of a
USD $11M budget supporting asset teams in Indonesia,
Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam, and implemented
data management projects for New Ventures, New Business
Development and Regulatory Compliance.
In
the course of this engagement, they developed and
implemented data management policy and goals to
support a global Growth Strategy, built the value
case for optimized data management which reduced
decision latency by over 90%, drove enterprise scale
metadata quality and data governance initiatives
that delivered over 15 Tb of validated data to end
users via easy to use desktop tools, and reduced
time spent on data search by an average of 12% over
5 asset teams. They were also able to lead technical
training and workshops across Southeast Asia, manage
a regional budget to within .01% tolerance of projections,
manage and mentor staff across Singapore, Malaysia,
Vietnam, Indonesia and Malaysia, become an industry
thought leader on data management, and assure top-quartile
PSC Operator Compliance Index performance with local
national oil companies.
Our contract assignee
also contributed to a business case with national
oil companies for local operations on the largest
offshore gas discovery in the last decade and field
validated corporate business continuity plans during
political unrest in Thailand. |
